On 20 August 2025, the School of Law, Walailak University, led by lecturers, staffs, and students, organized a community outreach activity under the project Simple Law: Know Your Rights, Stay Ahead at the Rehabilitation and Elderly Learning Center, Thung Tha Lat Community, operated by the Division of Social Welfare, Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality.

💓 The activity was designed to provide essential legal knowledge relevant to the daily lives of the elderly. 👴🏻🧓🏻 It featured a role play on inheritance law and marriage equality, which created an engaging and accessible learning atmosphere, as well as lectures on inheritance law, loan agreements, and debt guarantees. In addition, law students worked closely with elderly participants in a one-on-one format to listen to their concerns, offer advice, and explain how to draft a legally binding will 📝👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️.

📚 The project is part of the integration of academic courses with social engagement, ensuring that legal education is applied in practical contexts. The courses involved include:

👩‍💼 Miss Yosita Saikhwan, acting Head of the School of Law and Project Leader, remarked: This activity provided an excellent opportunity to deliver legal knowledge directly to the elderly, empowering them to manage their lives and assets with confidence. At the same time, it created a valuable platform for students to gain practical learning experiences and contribute meaningfully to sustainable social development.”.

👉 Importantly, this activity received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the elderly participants, who expressed their appreciation with love, smiles, and laughter throughout the event. This reflects the success of creating accessible and meaningful legal education that truly benefits the community.
