Walailak University School of Law, in collaboration with the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) and the Lawyers Council of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage, organized the “Public Hearing on the Review and Amendment of the Civil and Commercial Code (Southern Region).”

On Saturday, 18 January 2025, the School of Law, Walailak University, together with the Thailand Institute of Justice (Public Organization) and the Lawyers Council of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage, held a Public Hearing on the Review and Amendment of the Civil and Commercial Code (Southern Region) under the seminar theme:
“Looking Back – Looking Ahead: Is Thai Law Outdated or Flawless?”
with a special focus on Commercial and Business Law in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Civil and Commercial Code. The event took place at Grand Fortune 1 Conference Room, 1st Floor, Grand Fortune Hotel, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The objective of the seminar was to gather insights and perspectives from distinguished experts, academics, and legal practitioners regarding challenges and obstacles in the enforcement of the Civil and Commercial Code. The feedback will be used to revise and further develop the provisions of the Code to better reflect the evolving social, economic, and technological context.

The program featured a Special Lecture on “Revisiting the Civil and Commercial Code on Its 100th Anniversary: Challenges and Significance for a Fair and Modern Legal System” and a Panel Discussion on “Looking Back – Looking Ahead: Is the Civil and Commercial Code Outdated or Flawless?”.
