During February 11–13, 2026, Mr. Pete Pimanprom, a lecturer of the School of Law, Walailak University, was honored to serve as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

On this occasion, he delivered a special lecture titled:
“Foundations of Fiscal Sovereignty: A Comparative Legal Analysis of Thai and Indonesian Tax Systems,” which provided a comparative analysis of fiscal sovereignty principles and the structure of tax systems in Thailand and Indonesia—an important topic within the fields of public law and international economic law.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the School of Law, Walailak University, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta to establish a foundation for long-term academic collaboration. This includes faculty and student exchanges, joint research, academic activities, and international curriculum development.

This collaboration reflects the School of Law’s role in strengthening academic networks within the ASEAN community, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and advancing legal knowledge on an international scale.
