From 1–3 August 2026, the School of Law, Walailak University, continued to advance its commitment to internationalization by promoting knowledge creation and international academic exchange.

Lecturer Sawettachat Jubsilp, a lecturer at the School of Law, Walailak University, was invited to present his academic research at an international conference at Udayana University in Bali, Indonesia. Udayana University is an MOU partner university of the School of Law, Walailak University.

His research, titled “Longevity Tourism: A Comparative Human Rights Analysis of Right to an Adequate Standard of Living in Local Communities in Thailand and Indonesia,” successfully passed the peer-review process and was accepted for an oral presentation at ULTIMATE SDGs 2026: Udayana Law & Tourism Impact for SDGs – An International Conference on Law, Tourism, and Sustainable Development, held from 1–3 August 2026 at Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia.

The presentation demonstrates the academic potential of the School of Law faculty in producing high-quality research with international relevance. The study explores key issues concerning human rights, longevity tourism, and the right to an adequate standard of living, through a comparative analysis of Thailand and Indonesia.

The research is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in relation to community development, sustainable tourism, and human rights protection.

Beyond presenting research on an international stage, participation in the conference also contributed to strengthening academic collaboration with Udayana University, the School of Law’s MOU partner. The engagement creates opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and international academic networking.

Furthermore, the knowledge and experiences gained from the conference will be integrated into the School of Law’s teaching and learning development, strengthening students’ knowledge and skills in law, human rights, and sustainable development, while preparing them to work effectively in an increasingly global and interconnected professional environment.
