From 1–15 July 2026, the School of Law, Walailak University, continued to advance the University’s Internationalization and Global Competencies initiatives through the Walailak University iShorts Program.

Led by Lecturer Kanokphol Nikornpest, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, School of Law, who served as the faculty supervisor and coordinator, a team of seven selected law students traveled to participate in the Chinese Government Scholarship Summer School Program 2026 at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China.

The seven students were selected through a highly competitive process from 35 applicants, providing them with a valuable opportunity to experience international academic learning and student mobility.

The program focused on promoting international student mobility and providing students with opportunities to study international legal courses in English, including:

📚 “The Community with a Shared Future for Mankind and the Contemporary Development of International Law”

📚 “The Practical Application of Chinese Law in the Global Context”

In addition to classroom learning, students participated in workshops, field study visits, and cultural exchange activities, engaging with faculty members and international students from various countries.

🤝 This program represents a concrete step toward strengthening international academic collaboration and global networks, in line with Walailak University’s 20-Year Strategic Plan.

The program was supported by ZUEL and the Government of the People’s Republic of China, which provided tuition fees, accommodation, and health insurance. Additional travel funding was provided by the Center for International Affairs (CIA) and the School of Law, Walailak University.

Following the completion of the program, the participating students will organize an Experience Sharing Session to share their knowledge, experiences, and inspiration with fellow students at the School of Law.
