Nakhon Si Thammarat, August 20, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The School of Law, Walailak University, reinforced its commitment to community engagement through the academic service project \u201cEmpowering Youth with Legal Knowledge to Prevent Drug Abuse<\/strong>\u201d The program was held at \u00a0Triam Udom Suksa School of the South and the Thung Thalad Community<\/strong> in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, led by Miss Khwanmanee Maneechote, Acting Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, together with faculty members, staff, and law students<\/strong>.<\/p>

\ud83d\udca1<\/strong> The initiative aimed to translate classroom knowledge into real-world benefits, focusing on two key areas: simplifying complex legal concepts for children, youth, and the general public, and fostering community engagement skills among law students. Through interactive workshops and group learning activities, students helped participants understand both the dangers of drug abuse and the strict legal consequences of drug-related offenses.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\ud83c\udfaf<\/strong> The project was also designed to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):<\/p>

\ud83c\udfaf<\/strong> SDG 4.3.4 (Quality Education): Providing equal access to quality legal knowledge through hands-on workshops and group activities for students, teachers, and community members.<\/p>

\ud83c\udfaf<\/strong> SDG 17.2.5 (Partnerships for Sustainable Development): Building strong networks among universities, schools, local communities, health centers, and police stations to sustain long-term learning and social development.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\ud83d\udcda<\/strong> As part of their coursework in LAW67-231: Criminal Law (Offences and Petty Crimes), students applied their knowledge through the campaign \u201cWhere There is a Community, there is Law.\u201d They developed brochures, QR codes, and digital resources to make legal knowledge more accessible. Beyond drug law, the project also promoted awareness of citizenship law and civic duties.<\/p>
