On April 8, 2026, faculty members of the School of Law, Walailak University, participated in the “Walailak Songkran Festival 2026” held at the Architecture Building of Walailak University. The event aimed to preserve and promote Thailand’s rich cultural heritage for future generations.
The festival featured activities that reflect the unique identity of the Songkran tradition, including the Buddha bathing ceremony for good fortune, the water-pouring ritual to pay respect and seek blessings from elders, and wearing traditional Thai attire. These activities created a graceful atmosphere and fostered pride in Thai culture.
Participation in this event represents an effort to promote cultural values and strengthen relationships among university personnel, while also contributing to the preservation and continuation of Thai traditions in a sustainable manner.
The School of Law, Walailak University continues to play an active role in advancing environmental law, environmental human rights, the right to clean air, and circular economy law through academic research, public policy engagement, and collaboration with leading national institutions.
Ms. Nattjira Kraithong, Lecturer at the Walailak University School of Law, has made significant contributions to the development of environmental law and public policy through research, academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and public outreach. Her work focuses on promoting environmental rights and sustainable development in cooperation with government agencies and national academic organizations.
As part of these efforts, Ms. Nattjira was invited by the Secretariat of the House of Representatives to present her research and participate in an interview for the “Withi Kao Klai” radio program on the topic “Legal Proposals for Recognizing the Right to Clean Air in the Thai Legal System.” The program aimed to enhance public understanding of environmental law and citizens’ environmental rights.
In addition, on March 25, 2026, she served as a speaker at a public consultation on the research project “The Constitution and the Protection of the Right to Clean Air.” Held in Bangkok, the event provided a forum for experts to discuss legal mechanisms for protecting environmental rights in Thailand. The project was conducted through the collaboration of the Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute and was funded by the Constitutional Court of Thailand.
Earlier, on October 31, 2025, Ms. Nattjira also participated as a speaker at a public consultation on the Draft Circular Economy Promotion Act, where she shared legal perspectives on resource management and sustainable development under the Circular Economy framework. The project was carried out through academic collaboration with the Environmental Research Institute for Sustainability, Chulalongkorn University, with research funding provided by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth).
These activities reflect the Walailak University School of Law’s ongoing commitment to advancing legal scholarship and public policy in the field of environmental protection. Through active engagement with national academic and policy networks, the School continues to contribute to the development of legal frameworks that promote sustainability, environmental justice, and the public interest.
On March 27, 2026, the executives, faculty members, and staff of the School of Law, Walailak University, participated in the celebration of the 34th anniversary of Walailak University.
They joined a merit-making ceremony by offering alms, including rice and dried food, to 34 Buddhist monks at Thaiburi Building, Walailak University. This activity was held to bring good fortune and to preserve Thailand’s cherished cultural traditions.
This significant occasion reflects the pride of the Walailak University community in collectively driving the institution toward continuous development. The university has been internationally ranked and continues to advance as a quality institution with outstanding achievements in both academics and research.

The School of Law, Walailak University, in collaboration with the WU Tutor Center, organized the program “Brain Detox: Final Exam Success Program 2/2025” from February 10 to March 2, 2026. The program aimed to prepare students and boost their confidence ahead of the final examinations for the second semester of the 2025 academic year.
The program was honored by distinguished faculty members from the School of Law, who delivered essential knowledge and key examination techniques through intensive tutorial sessions. The sessions covered 10 core law courses for first- to third-year students, aiming to enhance academic skills and provide comprehensive preparation.

Ms. Tinlapas Chupantanaragul, a lecturer of the School of Law, conducted a field visit to Chiang Mai Province to disseminate legal knowledge, strengthen the capacity of personnel within the justice system, and support tangible community development from March 20–23, 2026.

He served as a speaker in the “Capacity Development Program for Personnel on the Protection of the Rights of Children and Youth in the Justice Process.” The program aimed to enhance knowledge and understanding of children’s rights within the justice system among practitioners. It emphasized the application of child rights principles in the care, supervision, and rehabilitation of children and youth in detention facilities in a manner consistent with legal frameworks and international standards, while promoting a child-friendly justice approach at the Chiang Mai Juvenile Observation and Protection Center.

He was invited by the Chiang Mai Juvenile Observation and Protection Center to deliver a lecture in the “Program on Promoting Learning of Rights and Duties of Children and Youth in the Justice Process.” The session aimed to transfer knowledge and raise awareness of rights and responsibilities among children and youth in the center, thereby strengthening their foundational legal understanding.

In his capacity as an expert and advisor to the Umhum Homestay Community Enterprise, Mr. Tinlakas conducted fieldwork to collect in-depth data on the community enterprise. He also examined water quality and environmental dispute issues, particularly the case of pig waste discharge from upstream to downstream areas, which has affected local farmers. The objective was to identify solutions through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as to further develop the findings into academic study, research, and knowledge development in community management, tourism, and environmental law in a sustainable manner.
This initiative reflects the role of the School of Law, Walailak University, in integrating legal knowledge into social development, strengthening communities, and advancing the justice system in alignment with human rights principles and international standards.

In the second semester of the 2025 academic year, the Law Program at Walailak University delivered the course LAW63-352 Law of Evidence, with the distinguished participation of Professor (Special) Jaran Phakdithanakun, a renowned expert in the law of evidence with extensive experience in the justice system. He contributed to delivering in-depth knowledge and practical insights to students, totaling more than 48 hours of lectures and learning activities.
The Law of Evidence is a fundamental course that focuses on the study of legal provisions relating to evidence, including principles, procedures, and approaches to the presentation and examination of evidence in both civil and criminal cases. The course aims to build systematic understanding and enable practical application in legal professions.

Burden of proof and duty to present evidence
Rules on admissibility of evidence
General methods of presenting evidence
Methods of presenting evidence based on types of witnesses

This instructional initiative reflects the Law Program’s strong commitment to developing students’ in-depth understanding of evidentiary law, enabling them to analyze facts and legal issues comprehensively. It serves as a crucial foundation for pursuing a high-quality and professional legal career in the future.
On Monday, March 2, 2026, faculty members, staff, and law students from the School of Law, Walailak University, participated in the “Cultural Preservation Project: Hae Pha Khuen That Tradition on Makha Bucha Day 2026” at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
The participation aimed to promote, preserve, and uphold Thailand’s valuable arts, culture, and traditional customs, as well as to instill moral values, ethics, and public consciousness among students as future legal professionals. The activity encouraged students to recognize their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding the public interest and respecting the cultural foundations of Thai society.
In addition, this activity fostered collaboration between the university and the local community, aligning with national policies on the preservation of arts and culture as stipulated in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. These policies emphasize the protection, promotion, and preservation of arts, traditions, local wisdom, and the cultural heritage of the nation for sustainable continuity.
