    The School of Law, Walailak University, would like to express our sincere      appreciation to Miss Adinda Isna Nabila, a law student from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya (UNTAG), Indonesia, for successfully completing her 3-month international cooperative education program with us, from April 1st to July 18th, 2025.
    During her time with us, Miss Adinda actively engaged in academic support, teaching assistance, and various legal-related tasks assigned by the School. Her dedication, humility, and open-mindedness greatly contributed to the success and warmth of this international exchange.
    We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Cooperative Education and Career Development Center, Walailak University, and Center for Internation Affairs and WUIC for their excellent coordination and continued support in making this collaboration possible.
    This program is part of Walailak University’s internationalization mission, aiming to foster mutual learning, cultural exchange, and broaden professional perspectives for both our students and visiting scholars.

On July 16, 2025, the Law Program under the School of Law, Walailak University, organized the annual “Rapee Day” Legal Knowledge Competition for the academic year 2025. The event was held at the Srithammarat Conference Room, School of Architecture Building, with enthusiastic participation from students across all academic years. 🎓✨

The competition aimed to honor the benevolence and contributions of Prince Rapee Phatthanasak, widely recognized as the Father of Thai Law, and to instill in students the ideals and values of public service under the motto: “My life is service.” 👨‍⚖️

In addition to serving as a platform for learning and showcasing students’ legal knowledge and skills, the event also acted as a selection round for outstanding students to represent the university in upcoming regional-level legal competitions. This marks an important step in fostering legal professionalism and enhancing the academic potential of law students for future careers.

On July 9, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President of Walailak University, presented a certificate of recognition and a bouquet of flowers to Asst. Prof. Siwarut Laikram, Lecturer in the Law Program, School of Law, on the occasion of his appointment to the academic rank of Associate Professor in International Law. The presentation took place prior to the 7th Executive Meeting of the University for 2025, held at the Moklan Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Professor Dr. Wijit Srisaarn Building.

Later, on July 16, 2025, the executives, faculty members, and staff of the School of Law also extended their congratulations and presented a commemorative gift to Assoc. Prof. Siwarut Laikram during the 7th School of Law Meeting of 2025 in celebration of his academic advancement.

On July 4, 2025, administrators, faculty members, staff, and students from the School of Law, Walailak University, joined in the ceremonial tribute and alms-giving to Buddhist monks to commemorate the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, as a demonstration of their profound loyalty and gratitude for Her Royal Highness’s boundless benevolence and tireless contributions to the Thai people and the nation.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Nares Kesaprakorn, Acting Dean of the School of Law, along with program representatives, presented royal offerings before the Princess’s portrait and signed a book of well-wishes and blessings in honor of Her Royal Highness.

The ceremony was held at the Thaiburi Building, Walailak University.

From June 30 to July 11, 2025, representatives from the School of Law, Walailak University, attended an academic training program titled “High-quality Development and Intellectual Property Protection”, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in collaboration with Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing, People’s Republic of China.

The delegation was led by:

The event was graciously hosted by the People’s Republic of China.

✍️ The main objectives of the program were to promote academic excellence and international cooperation, with key goals including:

Strengthening academic networks among legal professionals, scholars, and practitioners from China, ASEAN countries, and Western nations

Exchanging knowledge in the field of intellectual property law, including sharing research findings and specialized expertise

Enhancing the international image and reputation of the university

Fostering strong relations between the university and academic institutions, legal entities, and governmental/private organizations in the Asia region

School of Law, Walailak University Organizes Speech Contest to Select Student Representatives for Rapee Day 2025

On Wednesday, July 1, 2025, the School of Law at Walailak University organized a speech contest in honor of Rapee Day 2025. The event took place at the Srithammarat Meeting Room, Faculty of Architecture Building, with the aim of selecting outstanding undergraduate law students to represent the university at the national-level speech contest hosted by the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage.

The event received an enthusiastic response from law students, and the competition results are as follows:

The judging committee selected the first prize winners and first runner-ups from both language categories—a total of four students—to represent the School of Law in the national-level undergraduate speech contest for Rapee Day, organized by the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage. The contest will take place on August 7, 2025, in Bangkok.

On Wednesday, 25 June 2025, the School of Law, Walailak University, in collaboration with the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court, organized the special lecture project “United for Mediation 2025” for the 2025 academic year. The event took place at Lecture Building 5, Walailak University, and was attended by a large number of students, faculty members, staff, and members of the public.

The event featured distinguished speakers:
👨‍⚖️ Mr. Nipon Kongphet, Chief Judge of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court, delivered a special lecture on “Knowledge of Pre-Litigation Dispute Mediation” pursuant to Section 20 Ter of the Civil Procedure Code.

👩‍⚖️ Mrs. Supattra Suebsom Anantapong, Senior Judge of Nakhon Si Thammarat Court, presented a special lecture on “Knowledge of Post-Litigation Dispute Mediation” under Section 20 Bis of the Civil Procedure Code and on “Online Mediation.”

📍 This activity was organized in celebration of the auspicious occasion of the 73rd Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn. It aims to promote widespread awareness of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution method, enhance the efficiency of the court’s mediation system, and foster understanding of the roles of judges and legal officers within the court system. Additionally, guidance was provided on preparing for legal professional examinations for students planning to enter the legal field.

On 25 June 2025, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presented a bouquet of flowers to congratulate Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Lecturer Kanokphon Nikornpais, of the School of Law, Walailak University. The presentation took place prior to the university’s executive meeting.

This recognition was given in honor of Lecturer Kanokphon’s recent achievement of being awarded the Fellow status under the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and supporting learning, certified by The Higher Education Academy (HEA) on 20 May 2025.

On Wednesday, 18 June 2025, the School of Law held the “Homeroom Lawwu Family” event for the 1/2025 semester, alongside a Recognition Ceremony to award certificates of academic excellence for students with outstanding performance in the 2024 academic year.

This activity was designed to provide students from all years of the Bachelor of Laws program an opportunity to meet with university administrators and academic advisors, as well as to receive important information regarding the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), curriculum updates, teaching and assessment methods, relevant regulations, and guidance for future academic planning.

During the event, certificates were presented to students with excellent academic achievements in each year level as a form of recognition for their dedication and as inspiration to their peers. The awards included:

Highest GPA recipients in Years 1, 2, and 3 for the 2024 academic year

Honor students (GPA 3.50 and above) in Years 1, 2, and 3 for the 2024 academic year

✍️ On 15 June 2025, the School of Law, Walailak University, organized the 11th annual “Presentation of the Code to Protégés” ceremony for first-year Bachelor of Laws students at the University Lecture Hall. This traditional event, held annually, aims to encourage and inspire students as they embark on their legal professional journey.

📍 The ceremony was led by Acting Deputy Dean Lecturer Taweeporn Khongkaew, together with faculty members of the Bachelor of Laws program, who presented the Civil and Commercial Code to the first-year students. This symbolic “#IntellectualWeapon” ⚖️ 📚 serves as a vital tool for their studies and future legal careers. The event also featured a wrist-tying ritual, symbolizing good fortune and conveying best wishes from senior students and faculty.
